We preach 'focus' while context-switching between 6 AI tools
The desktop app that turns AI chaos into productivity superpowers. No more context switching. No more AI sprawl.
Hey builders 👋
I was deep in my usual AI workflow yesterday — Claude for writing, ChatGPT for brainstorming, Gemini for research — when I realized something ridiculous.
We're building in public about "focus" and "deep work" while context-switching between 6 AI tools like maniacs.
The irony wasn't lost on me.
Then coincidentally had a check-in meeting with my friend Chris Cunningham (from ClickUp) who showed me what they'd been quietly building: Brain MAX.
Here's what got me: It wasn't just the product. It was how they approached the build itself. While everyone else was racing to ship AI features for the demo, ClickUp was solving the workflow problem that every founder faces but nobody talks about.
The hidden cost of AI sprawl.
Think about your last productive deep work session. How many times did you:
Switch between AI tools mid-thought?
Lose context moving from Claude to ChatGPT?
Waste mental energy on logins and interfaces instead of actual building?
I've watched too many founders (myself included) get seduced by the "best tool for each job" mentality. We optimize for AI model performance but ignore the cognitive overhead of using them.
ClickUp took a different approach. They didn't just ask "how do we make AI faster?" They asked "how do we make AI invisible so builders can focus on building?"
The result? One native desktop app that talks to every AI model, understands your context, and actually completes tasks instead of just starting them.
Here's what struck me most about this launch.
While everyone else is building AI tools that look impressive in Twitter demos, ClickUp spent time thinking about the builder's workflow. They didn't just solve the AI problem — they solved the using AI problem.
What can we learn from this? Sometimes the best products come from using your own tools daily and getting frustrated with the friction. Brain MAX didn't try to reinvent AI. They reinvented how builders use it.
That's the kind of problem-solving that creates category-defining products.
After seeing Chris's demo and hearing his conviction behind this bet, I knew I had to support them for this launch so I hunted them on PH.
👉 They're live at this link here today if you want to see what they've built. Would love for your support and feedback. LMK what you think :)
